Become part of our SWARCO team as Software Development Engineer Location: Basingstoke, United Kingdom | Full time Your Challenge We have an amazing opportunity for a Software Development Engineer to join our Engineering Development Team. Please note this role is Basingstoke/Hybrid based so you must live within a commutable distance of the Basingstoke office. In this role, the Software Development Engineer will be responsible for central cloud system software development for Swarco ITS in the UK and liaising with Swarco central software development for core architecture activities in Germany. Key Responsibilities Implement/document/test software solutions using .NET (C#) Design new services and enhance existing ones using Message-Broker-Communication (MQTT) Perform Design-, Code- and Peer-Reviews of your colleagues Work in an agile environment, develop and optimize processes and best practices Interpret customer requirements specifications generating functional requirements documentation for software Maintain software development to company quality standards while helping to attain the highest security standards for our cloud systems Look for improvements to the development process to maintain leading-edge software development tools and techniques Your Profile Leading software development Interpreting customer requirements and generating specifications for software developers C# .NET 5+ Programming language Experience/knowledge of using ASP .NET Web API, gRPC, RabbitMQ, Redis or similar technologies Good organization skills and ability to work on own initiative Atlassian Toolset JIRA, Confluence and Bitbucket Appreciation of Docker Kubernetes containerization and deployment Appreciation of Typescript & .NET backend services Appreciation for connecting cloud systems to live equipment which may include via mobile comms 2:1 or better Degree in BSc Computer Science or equivalent Minimum of 5 years software development experience Minimum of 2 years experience leading software developments Commercial software development experience Right to live and work in the UK Your Benefits As well as providing a competitive salary and benefits package, we actively run employee opinion surveys as part of our drive to provide a comfortable and supportive working environment.
