Software Development Engineer, Device OS

This job is for a challenging, complex, high-volume, and large-scale project involving embedded development (Linux + C/C++). Experience in Multimedia (Audio, Video, Graphics) or Android Framework will be an added advantage.

Key Job Responsibilities

The Engineer is expected to design (high-level and low-level), own end-to-end (depth) for a specific set of features while having breadth on the rest of the features, and provide technical guidance for junior members in the team.

A Day in the Life

The following are the day-to-day activities: Feature development Peer code and design review Interact with internal and external stakeholders (Dev and QA) to clarify requirements and resolve dependencies On-call rotation

About the Team

The team is working on a business-critical, high-visibility, large-scale & high-device-volume project involving embedded development (device side), cloud development (AWS services, API, CDK, pipelines, container management), etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence - Experience programming with at least one software programming language - 3+ years of working experience in embedded development with strong knowledge of Linux and C/C++ - In-depth knowledge and working experience on embedded OS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent - 3+ years of experience in embedded software/middleware development with strong experience in Linux + C/C++, and strong operating system fundamentals - Hands-on experience with Multimedia stack (Audio, Video, and Graphics)
