We welcome you to come and innovate with Amazon Appstore Developer Experience and Selection team! The Developer Experience team develops products, services, SDKs, and tools for third-party mobile app developers to manage their apps on Amazon Appstore as well as build systems to curate a catalog of hundreds of thousands of mobile apps to enable them on FTV and Fire Tablet store. As a Developer, you will: Help drive the architecture and technology choices that enable a world-class experience for our developers. Utilize various metrics sources to deliver rapid iterations of software features. Solve difficult problems with elegant and practical code. Raise the bar on quality, consistency, maintainability, efficiency, security, and all the other things that make great software. Be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying medium to large sized projects. Help define engineering best practices. Be a champion for the user: Insist on the highest standards, create functional and engaging features, and ensure their needs always come first. Key job responsibilities: You will be responsible for the architecture, design, and delivery of critical distributed systems, influencing the team on the right technical direction, making key technology decisions, coaching and developing engineers, and improving the overall maintainability of these systems. You will need to drive innovations and think big to bring in step function changes from the current status quo. A day in the life: You will need to engage with senior engineers to review key designs and architecture. You will review key customer and operational metrics, look at system health. You will problem-solve complex ambiguous problems. You will code critical and complex modules. You influence senior leaders and propose architecture to support future needs. About the team: In Appstore, “We entertain, and delight, hundreds of millions of people across devices with a vast selection of relevant apps, games, and services by making it trivially easy for developers to deliver.” Appstore team enables the customer and developer flywheel on devices by enabling developers to seamlessly launch and manage their apps/in-app content on Amazon. It helps customers discover, buy, and engage with these apps on Fire TV, Fire Tablets, and mobile devices. The technologies we build on vary from device software to high-scale services to efficient tools for developers. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience. 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience. Experience programming with at least one software programming language. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
