Prime Video is disrupting traditional media with an ever-increasing selection of movies, TV shows, Emmy Award winning original content, add-on subscriptions including HBO, and live events like Thursday Night Football. Our architecture operates at Amazon-scale and raises the bar for playback reliability, video start time, and image quality. Prime Video runs on thousands of device types in over 200 territories worldwide. The mission of the Localization & Accessibility team in Prime Video is to “Delight Prime Video customers world-wide with relevant language options and accessibility assists from Day 1”. As Content Localization and Accessibility team, we obsess over making Prime Video the most inclusive streaming platform, providing content with accessibility assists like closed captions, audio description, industry-first Dialogue boost, while improving the coverage of subtitles (subs) and dubbed audio (dubs) so that customers can stream content in the language of their preference. With PV’s 3Y goal to acquire and retain the next 100MM customers from international territories, it is imperative that our selection is made available to international customers in their preferred language. Generating such assets using Localization Service Providers (LSPs) takes multiple weeks to turn around and becomes cost prohibitive when scaled to our entire Catalog across the breadth of languages we support (32 UI languages). With increased focus from regulatory bodies from several territories and mandating minimum bar for accessibility in terms of closed captions & audio descriptions coverage, the team is propelled to innovate for the customers in need. As such, to achieve Catalog scale and localization velocity the team is investing on combination of Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, LSP tooling, and optimized Human In The Loop. Key job responsibilities

Work closely with product managers and cross-functional teams to understand and define project requirements. Designing and developing highly reliable, scalable, and distributed systems. Delivering quality features on-time and execution against project plans and delivery commitments. Working with team members to manage the day-to-day development activities, participate in designs, design review, code review, implementation, and operational excellence. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in a timely manner. Stay up to date with industry trends and integrate best practices into development workflows. About the team

The Content Localization and Accessibility (CLAy) team's mission is to empower Customers world-wide with relevant language options and innovative accessibility assists on Day 1 of their experience with Prime Video. With a multidisciplinary team of applied scientists and software developers, CLAy builds exciting new solutions in the multimedia language domain including innovative cloud-based products to automate the localization supply-chain and AI/ML-based solutions to scale subtitle, dubbing, metadata and other types of media content localization across 30+ languages, as well as enable new and innovative accessibility assists for PV content to serve the customers with different needs. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience. 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience. Experience programming with at least one software programming language. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
