Are you a seasoned software development professional looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead our client's talented development teams across local and international environments.

About the Role As a Software Development Manager, you will oversee a small UK-based development team and collaborate with an external overseas software house comprising approximately 20 staff. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the software development function operates efficiently and aligns seamlessly with our client's new IT Operating Model. You will: Lead and mentor local and remote development teams. Come from a hands-on Software Development background but have moved into a hands-off role over recent years, leading/managing teams. Own relationships with external development suppliers. Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure contractual obligations with suppliers are met. Fulfil the SCRUM Master role when needed. Provide a calm, diplomatic, and technically sound voice in areas such as mobile development, DevOps, cloud architectures, scalability, and secure development. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day development activities for local and external teams. Provide leadership, mentoring, and line management to in-house staff. Ensure the delivery of quality software solutions that meet business requirements. Monitor and optimize the performance of internal and external development teams. Support the CTO in implementing the new IT Operating Model. Essential Skills and Experience Excellent written and spoken English in a commercial environment. 10+ years of experience in software development management/leadership. Strong background in C# development. Deep knowledge of cloud systems (AWS/Azure). Expertise in mobile development frameworks and design patterns. Proven ability to manage geographically dispersed teams. Extensive historical full-stack development experience. Desirable Skills and Qualifications Experience with DevOps pipelines. Knowledge of Flutter for cross-platform mobile development. Qualified SCRUM Master certification. Degree-level education or equivalent.
