You're a technical lead looking for a step up to Development Manager, or a hands-on Development Manager looking for a new challenge, then this is for you!

Described as an IT company doing logistics for ecommerce, our client is embarking on an ambitious new project to develop their own channel integrations platform.

You will be working closely with the CTO in a key leadership role, driving technical excellence, shaping the future of the software platform, and empowering a talented team to achieve greatness.

What You'll Be Doing

Building and Leading Teams:

Take charge of a newly formed software development function, leading hybrid-working teams and fostering collaboration. Defining the Future:

Work closely with the CTO to design, develop, and deliver innovative software systems using modern tools and practices. Making Things Happen:

Drive the technical delivery of complex, high-impact projects, ensuring business outcomes are achieved. Recruitment and Growth:

Play a key role in hiring the best talent, helping to grow and shape a high-performing engineering function.

We're looking for a passionate and experienced leader who's as excited about technology as they are about building high-performing teams.

You'll need to have:

Proven experience leading hybrid-working software development teams. Experience of delivering technically complex projects in collaboration with Product Owners and stakeholders. Expertise in cloud computing (Google Cloud Platform preferred). Solid experience in JavaScript development (Node.js, React/NextJS). Knowledge of event-driven microservices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes (Google GKE preferred). Excellent communication and people management skills, including running 1-2-1s, appraisals, and team meetings.

Nice-to-Haves

Familiarity with GitOps principles. Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools, particularly Terraform. A background in project management is a bonus.

With new offices in the Southampton area, this is a hybrid role, requiring you in the office regularly.

Salary is dependent on experience, and we're looking to arrange interviews imminently.
