Job Purpose / Overview:

The Software Engineer is responsible for developing modern applications and creating sophisticated back-end processes powering modern web applications. Ensuring that development activities adhere to the software quality standards agreed and delivered to the highest possible standards.

Accountable for outlining and building reliable code and coherently discussing specifications and requirements, to deliver multiple projects.

This role is based at our headquarters in Rackheath, Norwich.

Role Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain, efficient, reusable, and reliable code

Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications

Maintain code quality, organisation and automation.

Identify bottle necks and bugs and devise solutions.

Utilise software engineering fundamentals and industry best practices, including analysis & design concepts, data modelling, implementation patterns, and quality driven development to deliver software components.

Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications.

Involvement on a variety of software development projects ranging from existing projects, platform maintenance activities through new/strategic projects.

Assist with application support duties including technical diagnosis and resolution of Application issues.

Liaise and work closely with the IT department to ensure quality and delivery of service.

Partake in continual personal and professional development to stay up to date with technology.

What we are ideally looking for:

Degree level education, ideally in Computer Science, or similar.

2+ years of software development experience.

Strong MS SQL knowledge

Strong C# experience

Exposure to a business environment using ERP (or similar) integrated solutions (optional).

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work independently, or as a team.

A positive approach to problem solving.

A passion for learning new things.

Good time management, prioritisation & organisational skills.

Has a can-do attitude, and displays a positive attitude to challenges.
