Brighton

office. This is a hands-on role where you’ll focus on maintaining and improving our flagship access control products, developing new features, and debugging critical systems. As a Software Engineer at Paxton, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our software solutions. You will be responsible for the full software lifecycle, from investigating and fixing bugs to designing new features that improve the functionality and performance of our products. You will also work closely with other engineers to ensure our software meets the highest standards and is fully integrated with our hardware. Key Responsibilities

Maintain and support existing software products, ensuring stability and performance improvements. Design and implement new features based on project requirements, delivering high-quality, scalable solutions. Investigate and resolve software defects, providing timely bug fixes and debugging solutions to ensure the continued success of our products. Collaborate with the team to identify issues early in the development process and help mitigate risks to ensure efficient project delivery. Review code (yours and others’) to ensure best practices, code quality, and maintainability. Proactively contribute to technical discussions, offering input on product design and architecture decisions. Provide clear and regular technical updates to project and management teams, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions. What are we looking for? A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent industry experience). Solid experience in back-end development, especially in C# .NET. Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, Angular, or React. Experience with .NET Web API and SQL Server. Strong experience with debugging and resolving complex software issues in production systems. A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working with others to solve technical challenges. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and development. Please note this role will require you to work at least 3 days in our Brighton office.
