£45,000 - £55,000 + company benefits We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our dynamic Automation and Engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge engineering technologies and advanced robotic systems, developing innovative solutions for clients across a variety of industry sectors. As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing software for robotic and automated systems, as well as special-purpose machinery. Prior experience with these or similar technologies is essential. Key Responsibilities:

Develop software solutions for robotic systems, automated machinery, and bespoke industrial projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver advanced engineering solutions for diverse industry sectors. Integrate vision inspection systems, sensors, and other hardware with software platforms to support mathematical modelling and system integration. Develop and optimise software for Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems and motion control solutions. Required Skills & Experience:

Experience as a software engineer working with automation technologies, including robotics, special-purpose machinery, conveyors, high-speed machinery, packaging systems, or warehouse automation systems. Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field, with strong programming skills for automated systems and machinery. Proficiency in C# .NET (preferred), with the ability to integrate and process data from vision inspection systems, camera systems, and sensor platforms. Knowledge of PLC control systems, able to evaluate and select appropriate control systems based on project requirements and assess the strengths and limitations of various programming tools. Experience with integrating motion control systems, vision systems, robotics, and pneumatic systems, developing software solutions for these technologies. Familiarity with 3D machine vision systems is advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and take initiative both on-site and autonomously. A valid UK driver’s license is required, as occasional travel to customer sites will be necessary.
