Due to the continued growth and expansion of our Software Department, we have an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer – Embedded Simulation, to develop, test, and design software, targeting a range of platforms and devices. The role As a Software Engineer - Embedded Simulation, you will be responsible for developing and implementing simulation software using advanced modelling tools. Your focus will be on designing, testing, and optimizing embedded software solutions that accurately simulate real-world environments and scenarios. Applying Model-Based Design principles to create models for system-level simulations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the development process. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement complex algorithms within modelling tools for simulation purposes. Implementing real-time simulation solutions, ensuring compatibility with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and other embedded systems. Generating efficient and optimised C++/C code from models for deployment on embedded systems. Testing embedded simulation software to validate its functionality and performance against design/requirement specifications. Preparing detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, model architecture, and test plans to ensure clarity and maintainability. Collaborating with system engineers, electronics engineers, mechanical engineers and other stakeholders to integrate simulation software into overall embedded systems. Supporting and maintaining integration of code generation processes into development pipelines. What are we looking for? Software Engineering or relevant Computer Science related degree Strong proficiency in Model-Based Design methodologies. Experience with real-time simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing. Proficient with Modelling tools e.g. MathWorks – Simulink, Matlab etc. Proficient in C/C++ programming for embedded systems. Familiarity with communication protocols such as BLE, SPI, and I2C. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of industry best practices in embedded systems development. What can we offer you?
