Want to be part of a Medical Device start-up team transforming the cost and availability of medical imaging devices?

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join us at an exciting time as we approach the release of our first products to market.

You will be joining a small but growing team of five software engineers working on high-performance computational software.

The company mission is to produce next generation portable 3D low-dose X-Ray machines.

There is an opportunity to develop cutting-edge technology, working with a modern technology stack and receive amazing learning and development opportunities.

You will work closely with a team of talented scientists and engineers revolutionising healthcare for millions of people globally.

This 3D X-Ray technology has applications in the future of non-destructive evaluation (NDE) for Aerospace composites, Metal Additive Manufacturing, and the Electronics supply chain.

We are looking for a software engineer to help lead the development and optimisation of this product line, and offers extensive career progression opportunities.

Candidate Profile

As our ideal candidate, you have a minimum qualification of an undergraduate degree in engineering or science-based discipline.

We would welcome applications from people who are accustomed to working in open agile environments, have the confidence to make design decisions, take ownership of the execution of their work, and show a collaborative approach to development.

Key Responsibilities

Main duties and responsibilities :

Prototyping image processing algorithms in Python

Creating / maturing tools to automatically analyse images from our systems inspecting electronics and composites

Developing and testing control software for X-ray devices

Performing the full range of collaborative software development activities according to industry best practice including specification, design, coding, reviewing, and testing

Generating Intellectual Property

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Skills :

Proficiency in Python development, including libraries for image processing

An understanding or desire to work with Modern C++ code

Experience of thinking through image analysis problems

Problem-solving skills with a mathematical aptitude

Familiarity with frameworks for deep learning, e.g., PyTorch (desired)

Effective communication with an eagerness to learn from, and share knowledge with others

Experience :

Scoping work, making design decisions and completing tasks within budget and to deadline

Software development and testing applied to scientific / technical problems

Part of the development team building a complete software product

Image processing techniques
