Job Description:

The Crypto Development team (Dev-Crypto) is responsible for providing Cryptography services, security development, production support, and key management to multiple channels and consuming applications. This role presents an opportunity to design, develop, and automate security-related capabilities to multiple products, including but not limited to data at rest/in transit encryption.

We are looking for a talented lead engineer with information security experience to join the team of IT professionals to build innovative solutions and ensure security standards and best practices are met.

Responsible for hands-on development of automated data transfer processes and application integration with RESTful APIs.

Design and build innovative solutions for data at rest and data in transit encryption requirements.

Act as a Technical Lead who can take end-to-end responsibility of estimates required for planning, design/development/deployment, and efficient collaboration with other engineers and developers.

Participate in hands-on development work, code peer reviews, code check-ins, and work with developers.

Identify opportunities and analyze scenarios to provide automated solutions/processes.

Utilize standard frameworks to design, build, and support applications.

Actively participate in meetings of multiple workstreams, coordinate with cross-functional team members, and contribute to solutioning to meet business and technical requirements.

Conduct (or participate in) proof of concept on new technologies, security solutions, and vendor products.

Break down functional requirements into technical requirements by creating appropriate technical/data solutions and documentation.

Resolve/troubleshoot and suggest solutions for post-production defects and issues.

Participate in design discussions on scalability, performance, security, and best practices.

Conduct pre and post-implementation reviews, ensuring all technical solutions have met business requirements and technical specifications/standards.

Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with emerging industry trends, new technologies, and best practices.

Coach/educate a small team of IT professionals.

Review, define, enforce, and influence standards and appropriate quality measures/metrics.

Technical Requirements:

Expert knowledge of the technical environment/tools (e.g., user environment, applications, software, hardware, programming languages, and operating systems).

Experience in API build and application integration with RESTful APIs, Web services.

Fluent in writing effective and scalable Java and Python code.

Proficient in AngularJS, NodeJS, JavaScript, and PL/SQL.

Skilled in system-level architecture, like Linux, Unix, and Windows.

Expertise in Application Servers like JBoss, Websphere, Tomcat, JETTY, Liberty (an asset).

Expert knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate.

Proficient in Ansible/Saltstack/Terraform/Kubernetes.

Experience and sound knowledge of Microsoft Azure; working knowledge of AWS, Google Cloud (an asset).

Experience in the development practices, processes, and usage of EDP Pipeline.

Experience with tools like Jenkins, ServiceNow, GitHub, Bitbucket, Datadog, SonarCube, Jira, and Confluence.

Sound knowledge of DB2, MongoDB.

Experience in ServiceNow development (an asset).

Development in Java on Mainframe (an asset).

Experience in Glide programming (an asset).

Knowledge of Mainframe (an asset).

Knowledge of various cryptographic and encryption technologies and standards (Symmetric/Asymmetric cryptography, Public Key cryptography, Digital signing service) preferred.

Strong background in system design, development, architecture, application deployment.

Additional Skills/Information:

Ability to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical challenges.

Ability to troubleshoot operational issues related to the infrastructure and software.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Proficient in interpersonal communication (both oral and written).

Self-motivated and focused individual who enjoys a fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail.

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Experience in Agile delivery methodology.

Education & Experience:

Undergraduate degree, Post Graduate degree, or Technical Certificate.

Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering).

5-7 years of related experience.

CISSP certification or other certifications in cryptography (e.g., ECES) a strong asset.

ServiceNow certification a strong asset.

Hybrid = 2 days in the office per week
