JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer II/Senior Software Engineer to join our technology arm at Iambic Therapeutics. You will be a key player in applying advanced software engineering skills to build technologies that support our drug discovery efforts. Your key responsibilities include scalable deployment of machine-learning (ML) technologies, and creation, testing and maintenance of software systems. This role is based in the Iambic Bristol office in the UK.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Using backend web frameworks to build services
Deployment of software to AWS and use of Kubernetes (in collaboration with our cloud engineers)
Deployment of ML apps to GPUs
Collaborate on the creation, testing and maintenance of software systems
Code review for pull requests in adjoining areas
Maintenance of and mentorship in software best practices, including version control, testing and documentation
Collaboration with ML scientists and others in the company to understand requirements for deployed models
Clear oral communication of work in meetings and company demos, at a level suited to the audience
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent experience for Software Engineer II
Minimum of 10 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree or a PhD with 5 years’ experience; or equivalent experience for Senior Software Engineer
Recent experience in software development in modern Python
Familiarity with data tooling (for example Pandas, Arrow, S3, etc)
Familiarity with ML lifecycles and tooling (for example Pytorch, Huggingface, vllm, Airflow, Prefect, Luigi, etc)
Ability to work with scientific software, either through experience or advanced degrees in related disciplines
