Description
We are looking for a PHP Software Engineer to join Team Internet’s Registry division, which ensures that over 180 domain name extensions can be registered, maintained, and resolved in the Domain Name System. The division caters to 20 million domain names, keeping the businesses and individuals behind them online. As a key Software Engineer, you will be part of an Agile/Lean squad with full ownership of a platform’s functional area.
Key outcomes of the role
Design and deliver elegant solutions to complex challenges, both independently and collaboratively, with a strong focus on regularly delivering incremental functionality. Write well-structured, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code to ensure high-quality deliverables. Develop and optimize database queries for data stores such as MySQL, ensuring high performance and efficiency. Exhibit a strong enthusiasm for learning new technologies, protocols, and programming languages, such as Go or Rust, to stay current and adaptable. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the performance and runtime of existing queries. Follow and apply industry best practices in design and development to deliver robust and maintainable solutions. An out-of-hours on-call rota is in place, and you (along with the rest of your squad) will work to minimize any chance of being called out.
About you
Strong PHP development experience Comfortable working with both plain PHP and PHP frameworks. Knowledge of relational databases like MySQL Experienced in creating clean, highly performant, and elegant RESTful APIs Hands-on experience in using JavaScript, Vue.js or similar frameworks Confident working with Linux and common command-line tools.
