The opportunity: As our client begins an incredible new phase of software engineering and the way it is delivered into the business, they're putting engineers at the heart of the transformation. Developing software that collaborates with testing and has reach and integrity across the entire business. They are keen to let you share and express freedom of creativity, learn as a business from other people's experiences, and are passionate about building high performing teams in order to do the following: Designing, developing, and supporting engineering based Test Equipment software that will test world leading complex systems. Working with a wide range of teams and stakeholders across the company to deliver Test and Validation software capability of products from early concept stages, right through to production. Exploring and experimenting with new implementations and technologies to meet the ever challenging customer requirements. Challenging and implementing real change when opportunities arise in the way the software is developed both within test software and the wider software community. Working in a Software Engineering office/lab environment engaging with test equipment and electronic circuitry. We'd like to see from you: A strong ability to write software in C/C++ as a minimum; Experience with C# and scripting languages would be an advantage to other major projects also and the future of the company. Great communication skills with a strong motivation for collaboration across a multitude of disciplines such as Test, Validation, Architects, and DevOps. Experience working in an Agile environment. A good understanding of automation, continuous integration and DevOps principles and practices would be preferred. Proven experience of electronics measurement and debug techniques using equipment such as DVMs, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analysers. The ability to articulate the benefits of key software craftsmanship practices like unit testing, good design, TDD. An understanding of communications and serial interfaces such as TFTP, Ethernet, RS232, RS422, RS485, Modbus, CAN and 1553 buses.
