https://risk.lexisnexis.com About our team: Our team operates in squads, each consisting of a Squad Lead, Business Analyst, Dev Lead, Developers, and Testers. This structure enhances connectivity and allows for faster delivery as all resources work together on dedicated tasks. About the role: This position serves as a Software Engineering lead for a specific team of Software Engineers. In addition to writing code on complex systems and applications, this position has direct responsibilities for delivery and line management of core engineering roles within their team. Responsibilities Working closely with other Development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs Implementing development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews Operating in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders Completing complex bug fixes, resolving technical issues, and working with complex data models Managing your team, including interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, and giving appropriate feedback Providing accurate effort and cost estimates for deliverables Encouraging new ideas from staff to foster improvements through innovations and empowering them to be accountable Seeking diverse ideas and perspectives from a variety of sources to create better solutions, products and services Requirements Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey information clearly to a wide audience Ability to partner with and lead internal and external technology resources to solve business needs Good knowledge of test-driven development/BDD testing frameworks such as Junit, Selenium, Cucumber/Gherkin and industry best practices Effective monitoring, alerting and visualization tools (Kibana, Elasticsearch) Excellent understanding of data modeling principles, data manipulation languages, and storage systems Expert in development languages Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Kafka/SQS and Microservices Aptitude for achieving business objectives through managing others Excellent organizational skills when dealing with multiple priorities, and analytical thinking Natural problem solver and able to take a lead in collaborating to resolve issues At LexisNexis Risk Solutions, having diverse employees with different perspectives is key to creating innovative new products for our global customers.
