Are you a seasoned

Platform Engineer

with a passion for cutting-edge technology in the

defence sector ? At ALTEN, we're offering a unique opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects that enhance national security. Collaborate with industry leaders, utilizing your expertise to develop and maintain robust platforms for advanced underwater systems. Your contributions will directly impact the success of missions critical to our nation's defence. Location: Manchester . Hybrid

working model with on-site requirements as needed. Key Responsibilities: Develop and deploy

containerized applications using technologies like

Docker ,

Podman , and

Kubernetes . Implement and manage

development, testing, and automation tools within our IT infrastructure. Create and maintain

efficient

CI/CD pipelines

to streamline integration and delivery processes. Utilize scripting languages

such as

Shell

and

Python

to automate tasks and improve system performance. Apply DevOps and Agile methodologies

to enhance collaboration and productivity within cross-functional teams. Manage configuration

using tools like

Git ,

Jenkins , and

Jira

to ensure code integrity and seamless project tracking. Qualifications

Essential Skills and Qualifications: 5+ years

of experience in platform engineering or related fields. Proficiency in

container deployment

technologies:

Docker ,

Podman ,

Kubernetes . Strong background in

Linux-based infrastructure

management. Demonstrated experience with

CI/CD pipelines

and

automation tools . Familiarity with

scripting languages :

Shell ,

Python . Understanding of

DevOps

and

Agile methodologies . Security Clearance Requirement: Sole British citizenship . Eligibility to obtain
