Solar Engineer
Solar Engineer focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations for domestic and commercial renewable energy projects.
What the role involves
- Preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations for domestic and commercial renewable energy projects.
- Design solar PV systems and produce system layouts, string designs, and generation forecasts.
- Review client specifications, tender documentation, and project requirements.
- Preparing technical submissions and tender responses.
- Supporting customers, installers, and internal teams with technical queries.
- Assisting with troubleshooting solar PV, battery storage, and inverter systems.
Skills and requirements
- Previous experience in an Estimator, Technical Estimator, Solar Designer, Solar Installation Engineer or similar.
- Knowledge of design software such as EasyPV, OpenSolar, or similar.
- Knowledge of G98/G99 regulations, battery storage systems, inverters, and EV charging integration.
- Understanding of BS 7671 requirements.
