This is a wide-ranging role and there will be the potential to specialise within it for the right candidate, so please don’t be put off by its varied nature! To provide legal advice and assistance and court representation for officers engaged in civil and criminal court and enforcement proceedings, including adult services. To attend at licensing, planning, and other committees where legal advice and support is required to keep the Council safe from making unlawful decisions. To advise the Council’s planning and highways functions. About You

You could be about to qualify as a solicitor, or have experience and looking for a change. Either way you will have the enthusiasm and energy to take up this exciting role, together with a passionate commitment to successfully represent the public sector. A team player, you will want to learn yourself and develop others, and have the empathy and understanding required of a local government officer. About Us

Relevant professional qualification for the job role at Level 6 or above, AND Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in the role, AND Maintained membership of a regulated body where this is a requirement to practice in the role where applicable, AND Professional standards practised to the highest expected level.
