The Solo Children’s Home Manager is a key leadership position, responsible for managing all aspects of a solo children’s home. You will oversee the day-to-day running of the home, compliance with all regulations, and the delivery of trauma-informed, child-centered care. Support to achieve Ofsted registration Manage the home to ensure efficient operation, in line with policies & procedures, and relevant legislation Quality assurance and Monitoring Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Safeguarding Recruit, induct, train your team Provide supervision and continual assessment of your staff's performance Be able to create a 'can do' culture within your team and be resolution focused Establish professional relationships with multi agencies, parents, and other stakeholders Provide written reports for reviews, conferences and all other meeting requested Ensuring all requirements are met from any Inspection, including Compliance and Quality Assurance visits Ensure that the child has individual care and care planning which is child focused to meet their needs Who you are:
Have at least 2 years of relevant experience in residential care of children within the last 5 years (Ofsted registered service) A minimum 1 years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory role in social care Hold or willing to work towards an NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent (mandatory) Hold an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent Hold a full UK Driving License Have excellent communication skills Have an in-depth knowledge of the Children’s homes regulations 2025, Safeguarding legislation and procedures, Children’s Act 1989 and other relevant legislation Have a clear understanding of Social Emotional and Mental Health, Autism and Learning difficulties Have the desire to work for a company that invests in the professional progression of its employees Have the drive to build your own team around you, for the new home you will manage.
