Are you an experienced Solutions Architect with an interest for designing complex infrastructure and architecture solutions? Would the opportunity to support many, global ABF businesses excite you?

Business Technology Services (BTS) is currently recruiting for a capable Solutions Architect to enhance their continually evolving team, and be a subject matter expert for specific technologies across the ABF portfolio. This position requires a deep understanding of infrastructure technologies, as well as architectural design.

The potential scope for this role is huge, as BTS continue to offer our efficient and innovative IT solutions to more and more internal business units across ABF.

What you'll be doing:

Produce technical solutions that deliver the business need in line with reference architecture and ensuring security compliance.

Provide technical analysis, recommendations and costs for new and existing system requirements submitted by ABF businesses.

Provide solutions consultancy to ABF businesses before projects are requested and during project delivery as required.

Provide technical support to BTS Project Services and Operations teams as required.

Assist in the development and maintenance of the ABF BTS Reference Architecture in conjunction with the Technical Architects.

Engage with third party suppliers for quotes and advice or alongside the BUs for technical requirements gathering.

What you'll need:

Ability to produce articulate and accurate proposals, including design, project tracking, and cost estimation.

Experience in developing comprehensive infrastructure solutions for various projects.

Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, including wireless, firewall, and VPN solutions.

Proficient in Wintel environments and cloud solution development, particularly in Microsoft Azure and infrastructure architecture (compute, networking, storage).

Advanced verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in user-friendly language for diverse audiences.

Committed to prioritizing customer service, establishing firm connections with various business units, and preserving mutual respect and credibility.

Skilled in strategic planning and organization, with a focus on effectively balancing and prioritizing multiple responsibilities.

Experience in working with vendors, internal customers, and external clients to achieve project goals.

Capable of delivering complex architectural requirements that involve multiple systems and stakeholders.

Analytical approach to problem-solving with keen attention to detail, able to make informed decisions regarding design trade-offs (performance, scalability, security, cost).

Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously while ensuring timely completion of each task.

Location : Hybrid, a mix of office and homeworking. This role will be based at our Peterborough offices on the Lynchwood Business Park. The office has recently been renovated and along with a modern work environment has great public transport links, free onsite parking, free drink facilities, free lunch option each day and a great team culture.
