We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic Sonographer Assistant for our Prisons Service. To succeed you must have excellent communication skills and a flexible, proactive approach to delivering first class diagnostic services and patient care. The post holder will work closely with Sonographers and Radiologists, supporting them with patients during their clinics. Training is provided and further career development opportunities throughout the company. The post holder will be required to travel to different sites and will require business car insurance. You may be required to drive a van to transport equipment. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Main duties of the job

Ensuring the smooth running of clinics Assisting in the care and comfort of patients Assisting Sonographers and Radiologists during examinations Ensuring the clinical room is prepared prior to the start of clinical sessions Using the patient information systems (Soliton/PACS) Monitoring and maintaining adequate stock levels and ordering supplies of linen, gowns and consumables Ensuring and maintaining a patient centred and quality focused approach to all aspects of work Ensure patients have access to a chaperone at all times Uphold professional standards policy Uphold data protection and patient confidentiality at all times Job responsibilities

Main Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain a patient focused quality approach to all aspects of work. Assist in the care and comfort of the patient at all times. Escort patients to and from clinical rooms and, when necessary assist with undressing and dressing and provide a chaperone service to clinicians. Assist the Clinician during examinations, as requested. Ensure the smooth running of clinics. Ensure clinical rooms are prepared to the appropriate level of cleanliness. Where required maintain knowledge of the Healthshare Radiology Information System (Soliton) in order to interrogate the database, update details and print clinic lists. Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels and order supplies of linen, gowns and consumables. Check all the received orders and distribute stock across sites as required. Assist in the induction and training of new staff. Provide administration support as required. Safe and secure transportation of equipment between sites as required. Adhere to the Corporate and local policies applicable to the role. Person Specification

Qualifications

Good general standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent NVQ Level 2 or equivalent Experience

Previous experience of working as part of a team Previous experience in applying practical skills Previous experience in a health care environment Awareness of Health and Safety in the workplace Circumstances

Flexible in approach to work Available to work hours as required Must have business use car insurance Aptitude and abilities

Demonstrates ability to be tactful and diplomatic Flexible approach to duties Good organisational skills Ability to prioritise workload Physically capable of pushing/pulling a weight of up to 50kg, and lifting equipment up to 25kg Ability to concentrate when being frequently interrupted Ability to multi-task Understands the importance of confidentiality Basic understanding of anxiety and fears of patients about to undergo procedure Disclosure and Barring Service Check
