You will be responsible for: Autonomously producing high-quality ultrasound images and diagnostic reports. Maintaining high standards within the ultrasound team. Training and supervising others, including supporting new staff in induction. Teaching and promoting awareness and compliance with policies and protocols. Participating in and supporting the governance programme, setting up ultrasound audits where necessary. Participating in the ultrasound QA programme. Working with other senior staff to ensure essential departmental administration and organisation is undertaken. The care of the patient for the duration of their time in ultrasound, maintaining dignity, physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs. Education and qualifications
Qualified Healthcare Professional, registered with a recognised governing body. Recognised post graduate qualification in medical or clinical ultrasound (or equivalent). Comprehensive, up to date CPD portfolio related to advances in US imaging and management activities. Additional training/ qualification in a specific area of US scanning. Experience and knowledge
Demonstrable clinical and leadership experience. Understanding of the current challenges within general, obstetric and gynaecological US scanning. Experience working in a hospital environment that supports a wide range of complex clinical examinations. Interest and experience in gynaecology and obstetric ultrasound procedures. Knowledge of the Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) process. Skills and abilities
Good written and verbal communication skills. Good organisational and leadership skills. Able to implement evidence-based practice. Able to use a wide range of IT systems effectively. Able to work calmly under pressure. Awareness of all current topics and developments within the field of Ultrasound. Acts as an effective role model, demonstrating WSFT Trust values at all times.
