Sourcing Specialist

to join our team specialising in

Purchasing

for our

Global Purchasing Department

in the

United Kingdom. This role is classified as remote, subject to local regulations and requirements. It can be performed from the UK, China, India, or Craiova, Romania. This is a 12-month temporary contract to cover maternity leave. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Strategic Commodity Management: By developing and implementing comprehensive commodity strategies, you'll ensure optimal sourcing decisions that align with the company's long-term goals. Cost Efficiency: Through detailed cost analysis, logistics, tariffs, and exchange rate evaluations, you'll identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate with suppliers to achieve and exceed cost targets. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engaging with Engineering, Finance, SQI, and Manufacturing teams, you'll secure buy-in for sourcing decisions, ensuring alignment and support across departments. Process Improvement Leadership: Leading process improvement initiatives in purchasing, you'll enhance efficiency and effectiveness, contributing to overall operational excellence. Supplier Relationship Management: Maintaining regular interface with suppliers, you'll build and sustain strong relationships, ensuring reliable supply and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships. Sourcing Strategy Execution: Independently executing complex sourcing strategies, you'll ensure the procurement of high-quality goods and services at optimal costs, supporting the company's competitive edge. Market and Supply Chain Analysis: Conducting thorough market and supply chain analyses, you'll provide valuable insights that inform sourcing strategies and drive continuous improvement. Team Leadership and Development: Leading and mentoring a team of sourcing analysts and specialists, you'll enhance their skills and capabilities, contributing to the overall strength and effectiveness of the procurement function. Responsibilities To be successful in this role you will need the following: Sourcing Expertise: Proficiency in using purchasing systems to support the Request for Quote process and compare suppliers based on Total Cost of Ownership. Supplier Relationship Management: Ability to define and manage relationships with key/strategic suppliers using the Supplier Relationship Management process, including work plans, senior sponsor meetings, and scorecards. Cost and Value Management: Skills in establishing and controlling product and service costs using functional tools to ensure competitive pricing and desired margins, utilising the Total Cost Opportunity model. Negotiation Skills: Competence in using negotiation tools and methods to achieve stakeholder objectives and mutually agreed contract terms. Qualifications Education/Experience: College, university, or equivalent degree in the field appropriate for the function required. An intermediate level of work experience is required; however, we are open to developing the right candidate for the role.
