As a Sous Chef at Avery Healthcare's Brentwood Arches Care Home, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in leading a culinary team that provides a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality culinary service to the residents. Your focus will be on preparing modified diets that look appealing and are well-balanced, supervising and directing the work of culinary staff, and ensuring all food preparation meets the highest hygiene standards. Supervising and directing the work of culinary staff, as directed by the Head Chef, providing instruction and demonstration to unqualified staff on simple food preparation activities. Understandingthe principles of safe food handling to ensure that all food preparation undertaken in the kitchen meets the highest hygiene standards. Supportingall culinary team members in fullyunderstandingthe Avery Food safety management system. Our ideal candidatemust: Holdarelevant catering qualification City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent. Have a minimum of 1 year of catering experience. Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must hold a relevant catering qualification, such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ, and have a minimum of 1 year of catering experience. You must also demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality culinary services to residents, and be adaptable and flexible in your approach.
