Sous Chef
will work alongside the line chefs to ensure every dish is prepared to our high standards. This role is a leadership position but still requires a
hands-on
approach – perfect for someone who loves cooking but wants to enhance their leadership skills. With such a large kitchen team, you can focus on each aspect of the role, ensuring food quality and training when on section with the team, and leading the team through great service when on Pass. Responsibilities: Ensuring correct prep levels by our dedicated prep team. Ensuring deliveries and stock are put away correctly by the Goods Receiver. Daily due diligence. Junior staff wellbeing. Checking cleaning rotas are completed. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hygiene standards. Train and mentor kitchen staff to maintain consistency and excellence in execution. Assist with performance management of kitchen personnel. Support the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in maintaining a positive work environment. Requirements: Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a busy kitchen environment. Strong culinary skills and a passion for quality and creativity. Leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Experience in working with a large kitchen team. Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food safety practices, and culinary techniques. Knowledge of GP and stock control. Ability to organize and direct many checks at once.
