As a Spa Director, your role involves overseeing the spa operations at The Dorchester Spa and The Spa at 45 Park Lane, ensuring their alignment with luxury standards and organisational goals. Your responsibilities include managing the spa teams alongside the Spa Manager, developing and implementing policies, and maintaining a high standard of guest experience. You will lead health and safety compliance by updating COSHH and risk assessments, ensuring proper licensing, and providing training for the team. Financial management: Create annual budgets, review profit and loss statements, and aim to exceed revenue targets. This includes monitoring payroll, expenses, and the profitability of services and retail offerings. Regularly reporting on performance metrics and managing supplier relationships will also be essential. People management: Lead recruitment, create detailed job descriptions, and oversee the training and development of staff. This includes conducting regular appraisals and addressing performance issues. Inspiring a culture of excellence and guest satisfaction while ensuring professional grooming standards and a sales-driven mindset are pivotal to the role. Sales and marketing responsibilities: Analyse business performance, conduct competitive analyses, and create both long- and short-term strategies for growth. You will also liaise with luxury brand partners to maintain alignment with the spa’s values and drive sales through collaboration with senior teams. Essential Skills and Experience Operational Management: Proven experience in managing complex spa operations and leading multidisciplinary teams. Health and Safety Expertise: Knowledge of COSHH, risk assessments, and compliance with licensing and government legislation. Financial Acumen: Skills in budgeting, profit and loss review, payroll management, and driving revenue through KPIs. People Management: Strong ability to recruit, train, and develop teams while addressing performance and maintaining high standards. IT Systems: Proficiency in systems such as Trybe, Opera, Nexus, and Core HR to ensure seamless operations. Strong verbal communication skills – English is the primary language used in our hotel. Preferred Skills Sales and Marketing: Experience in competitor analysis, brand partnerships, and implementing growth strategies. Luxury Brand Alignment: Understanding of luxury standards and values, ensuring alignment with high-end branding.
