Post Title: CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) Practitioner Department: Dudley Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Location: Black Country Band: Band 6 Hours: 37.5 Contract Type: Permanent Responsible to: Service Manager / Clinical Lead IMPORTANT NOTE FOR POTENTIAL APPLICANTS: Following a recent management of change process this post will no longer be based at The Elms Health Centre (B63 2UR) from March 2025. From that time the successful applicant will be based in Walsall (Post Code WS3 3AZ) as part of a Black Country wide Single Point of Access (SPA). Main duties of the job

Job Purpose To provide a quality specialist service to clients (and their families/carers) referred to CAMHS across all sectors of care in Dudley. Triage CAMHS referrals including the assessment and prioritisation of clinical complexity and risk. To participate in the development of a clinical workforce rota to cover the SPA in collaboration with admin colleagues. To promote the reputation of CAMHS. To provide specialist assessment and intervention for complex mental health needs and to work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise systematic governance of practice within CAMHS. To contribute to the proposal, development and implementation of policy and procedures for CAMHS and wider children and family services. Person specification

Education

Full professional qualification as accredited by relevant professional body. Evidence of ongoing professional development. Knowledge

Knowledge of relevant legislation in CAMHS. Ability to assess and respond to the highly complex mental health needs of children and young people.
