First Class Support provides academic support to students in receipt of disabled student allowance (DSA). We pride ourselves on only employing first class support specialists that are passionate about making a difference to the lives of people studying higher education courses across the UK. We are currently looking for study skills tutors to help support autistic students with their studies at university to ensure they get the most out of their work and overall university experience. Students receiving your support will either be on the autistic spectrum, have ADD or have ADHD. In these instances, you will need to demonstrate specific experience of working with students with these conditions. Your Role

Tutors work with students on a one-to-one basis both remotely and face to face, to address the issues which some students might have in acquiring, recalling and retaining information in written and spoken language as well as the range of other difficulties that students with specific learning difficulties often face when working in an HE context. This role will include: Enhancing organisation skills Exam preparation Develop memory skills Structural advice regarding assignments Support with spelling, punctuation, grammar and accuracy of thought presentation Advice relating to research techniques Support should be tailored to a student’s individual needs and tutors will use their professionalism and experience to deliver support where clear goals and timescales are of paramount importance. Often, students will require ongoing support throughout their course; others might require less support as the course continues; while some students might need additional support as the demands of their course intensify. You will possess an awareness of the strengths which students on the autism spectrum can bring to a learning situation, and the skills to help students to make use of these strengths and overcome barriers to learning. Your Qualifications:

To qualify as a Study Skills Tutor for AS, you will need to hold: An Undergraduate Degree Teaching Qualification 6 National Autistic Society (NAS) online training courses Attendance of the Autism and SPELL face to face course. First Class Commitment To Our Staff

For this specific role, successful applicants will receive: £30.00 per hour Flexible Working Patterns. Access to continuing learning and development opportunities. Job Types:
