Role Overview

As a Cargo Screener at Securitas, you are a key part of the Aviation security operation. Using x-ray machines, you will be conducting screening and security checks for prohibited items in cargo to be transported, recording and escalating any issues of concern. Specific duties will include: Operation of x-ray machines, physical inspection of cargo, and lifting and carrying freight. Identifying dangerous objects in cargo and preventing those objects from being transported onto the aircraft. Maintaining focus and awareness within a demanding environment, which includes distractions from within the airport environment. Making effective decisions depending on the situation. Flexibility to work various shift lengths depending on the volume of cargo. Additional Information: Attendance at a mandatory 3.5 week training course in Israel to receive in-depth knowledge to operate as a Specialist Security Agent. Opportunities to progress through further training. Requirement of 37.5 hours per week with the opportunity for overtime if available. Monthly travel & meal allowance provided. Enhanced pension and medical insurance. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Bank holidays paid at double time & overtime paid at time and a half. Uniform provided.

Essential Skills

Full 5 Year Checkable Employment & Education History. Valid Passport Permitting Entrance to Israel. Right to Work in the UK. Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills - the ability to listen and provide clear and concise instructions. Demonstrate a High Level of Integrity whilst dealing with sensitive situations. Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and work flow in a disciplined environment. Able to work within a team and to act on own initiative when required. Possess a positive and flexible attitude to all aspects of work. Professional Approach. Attention to Detail. Local to London Heathrow Airport. No SIA licence or Security Experience is Necessary for this role.
