We are excited to advertise a 12 month fixed term maternity cover in the Microbiology laboratory at Southampton General Hospital. The role would be working core hours, Monday-Friday 09:00-17:30. We are looking for a specialist BMS with extensive knowledge in all aspects of Bacteriology. The laboratory provides a full clinical diagnostic service including parasitology, mycology, an extensive AST section, and provides TB testing for several hospitals. Job Responsibilities

IBMS Specialist diploma in Medical Microbiology required or equivalent experience in a clinical diagnostic lab Extensive post-registration experience Support the day to day running of the section and a point for enquiries from junior staff Strong training experience of staff a wide range of grades Strong understanding of Quality Control testing Demonstrates inclusivity and accommodates and supports colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds
