Applications are invited from Health and Care Professions Council state registered Biomedical Scientists to join our team providing a comprehensive Histopathology and Diagnostic Cytology Service in the Central Scotland area. The post will be based at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. The department is a well-equipped laboratory with recent investment in automatic microtomes and ergonomic laboratory benches in some areas of the lab. A new ICC lab equipped with 3 benchmark Ultra staining platforms was installed in the last year. The department provides support to the MOHs micrographic clinic. A Rapid on Site Evaluation (ROSE) for EBUS samples has just commenced. Experience in these techniques is not necessary as full training shall be given. The department is part of the national LIMS project and applications from candidates with an interest in LIMS/Laboratory IT would be welcome. Minimum Requirements:

A BSc honours degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent, which is acceptable for HCPC registration and either completion or working towards the Institute of Biomedical Science registration portfolio. Formal evidence of specialist knowledge of a range of discipline-specific procedures to postgraduate diploma level or equivalent. Evidence of continuing professional development.
