We are delighted to be advertising a specialist clinical/counselling psychology post to progress and develop the psychology offer across all WCDS diagnostic and intervention pathways. We are looking for a dynamic clinical/counselling psychologist who has good insight and working knowledge of SEND and values multidisciplinary working. The post holder will work as part of a progressive psychology team who operate within a larger multidisciplinary Child Development Service that provides assessment and intervention for children with neurodevelopmental differences. A primary focus for WCDS psychology has been to develop the social communication assessment pathway, including the pre and post-diagnostic support. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working with children who have neurodevelopmental differences; however, applicants who are enthusiastic about gaining experience in this specialty and who have a good knowledge of child development are encouraged to apply. The WCDS Psychology team values working in creative and thoughtful ways, and there is often scope to develop projects in response to the needs of service users as well as the special interests of the professionals.

We are a diverse team of psychologists and we welcome applications from a diverse range of backgrounds as well as those with lived experience of neurodiversity.

The post holder will receive support and supervision from a senior Psychologist. There are also significant opportunities to engage in peer supervision with colleagues in other trusts (e.g., CNWL) as well as collaboration with CDS/CAMHS child psychologists across the KCW patch. We would be happy for potential candidates to contact us to discuss the job and the remit further.

We can offer you:

A comprehensive induction into the community service followed by a local induction to introduce you to the role. Car lease scheme (only available for Band 5 and up). Flexible working options. Annual travel card loan. Training, support, and development in your career.
