Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - School Nurse

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic SCPHN-School Nurse with excellent communication and leadership skills, to join our dynamic team of Specialist Public Health Nurses, School Health Nurses, Child Health and Well-being Assistants and School Health Assistants. Please Note:

the post holder will be expected to cover schools in the Buckingham Area and surrounding villages towards Aylesbury. This is an all year round post only and term time only will not be possible. Part time of 30 hours will be considered. Main duties of the job

You will be keen to promote and support the health of school age children and their families (Healthy Child Programme 5-19 year olds), by using Health for Teens/ Kids and Chat health as a means to increase our digital presence. You will be aware of the current issues impacting on health and the changes that are affecting the school nursing service. You will understand the importance of partnership and team working as well as being able to work independently. You will have leadership skills and be able to manage a skill mix team, supporting them to develop as well as being involved in progressing the service. Self development is encouraged and mentoring support and supervision are available. A car driver and current licence are essential. About us

2. EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Registered Nurse Part 1 /RSCN/RMN Specialist Community Public Health Nurse School Nursing - Cert/Diploma/Degree Mentorship in clinical Practice/ENB998 certificate Nurse Prescribing Qualification Leadership training 4. SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

Clear, concise verbal and written communication to ensure liaison with multidisciplinary team, children, young people and their families. Experience of staff management within a skill mix team and delegation of tasks. Excellent computer skills on a range of software applications. Ability to write detailed reports/referrals to ensure interpretation by other members of the multidisciplinary team so that the child or young person can access the appropriate care and support. Can demonstrate sound judgement skills and use of initiative. Enthusiastic approach to professional and staff development. Ability to organise and delegate within a skill mix team. Ability to encompass and embrace changes in working environment. Participates in interagency collaboration. Leadership/participation in specialist projects. Ability to motivate, negotiate and reassure others. Willingness to learn and develop new skills. Team leadership skills. 3. EXPERIENCE

Evidence of ongoing evidence-based professional development. Evidence of facilitation and presentation skills. Knowledge of current issues and how they impact on professional practice, including Evidence Based Practice. Ability to carry out complex clinical assessments. Experience of Child Protection Policies and Procedures. Can demonstrate use of audit techniques. Knowledge of delivering CHAT Health. 5. SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Ability to travel to various community sites on a daily basis. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
