£23,088 per year Hours:

37 hours per week (full-time), includes some evenings and weekends. Office base:

Sandwell Deaf Community Association, West Bromwich, West Midlands. The focus of this post is: To deliver person-centred support, ranging from emotional to practical, meeting the needs and communication requirements of individuals, to ensure opportunities are not limited and individuals are at the centre of their support. We support and empower people to maximise their independence, acquire new skills and fulfil their potential. We work throughout Sandwell and the Black Country. Experience: Experience and understanding of Deaf people who have additional and complex needs is required. Requirements: Driving Licence/own vehicle. Level 2 Certificate in British Sign Language or equivalent native user BSL skills. Willingness to undertake study to further BSL language skills and any other post-specific training. Desirable: Certificate in Social Care. NVQ in Health & Social Care Level 2. What does the role involve? Provide support to service users within their home and the wider community whilst accessing a range of services. This post is subject to a six-month probationary period. Employment will be subject to references and DBS clearance. Why work for SDCA?
