Department: Community Rehabilitation Services; Dietetics Location: South Kirklees Salary: Band 6 - Permanent Contract Hours: 37.5 hours. Flexible working, Part time considered (minimum 22.5 hours). We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Dietitian to join our Community Dietetics Team covering Greater Huddersfield on a permanent contract. We are looking for someone who can work as a specialist, autonomous dietitian with experience in managing malnutrition in the community. You should have strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills and embrace the challenge of service development. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive nutritional care for patients referred to our service and will work offering assessments, in clinics, homes, and virtual appointments. You will work alongside peers, senior colleagues, a dedicated Band 4 assistant, and with other AHPs including speech and language therapists. The post requires a minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience. Main duties of the job

The role supports patients at risk of malnutrition across Greater Huddersfield, adopting a food-first based approach with the appropriate use of oral nutritional supplements. You will be responsible for: Your own caseload of patients who require oral nutrition support in the community offering holistic person-centred care Joint working with Speech and Language therapists and other AHPs, Social care and Nursing colleagues. Offering a hybrid approach including telephone/video clinics and home visits as needed. Supporting student placements (A, B and C placements) Planning and delivering training (internal and external) Triage of new diet referrals as needed Supervision of colleagues As our service is developing, we are looking for someone who will contribute to delivering an effective, safe, and efficient service. We have an excellent system of induction, appraisal, clinical supervision, and training opportunities for all staff. You will be part of a dynamic, innovative, and highly supportive team of colleagues delivering high-quality Dietetic services to the population of South Kirklees.
