A vacancy has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic dietitian for the Forth Valley Dietetic stroke service. The acute stroke unit at FVRH comprises of 6 hyper acute stroke beds and 17 acute and rehabilitation stroke beds. The post offers excellent experience working within the acute stroke team. The stroke team also provides stroke rehabilitation within a community hospital setting and an early supported discharge team. The post holder would participate in the wider team delivery of stroke education for staff and patients/carers.

The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, relevant experience, and a demonstrated interest in stroke. They must be committed to personal development and be able to work as part of a proactive team. The post-holder would be expected to actively contribute to departmental activities e.g. student training, department meetings, and when necessary provide some cover to other ward areas.

The Forth Valley Clinical Dietetic team is a friendly and proactive team providing inpatient and outpatient services within Forth Valley Royal Hospital, 4 Community Hospitals, and within Community Services. This post will be part of a team of 33 dietitians providing a wide variety of clinical specialities including critical care, renal, stroke, paediatrics, diabetes, IBS, and home enteral feeding along with 5 dietetic assistants and an administrative team. Shadowing and development opportunities exist within these other clinical specialities.
