Applicants are invited for the post of Band 7 Specialist Paediatric Dietitian at Colchester General Hospital. This role has become available due to the promotion of the previous post holder. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the paediatric gastroenterology dietetic service including multidisciplinary clinics. The Dietitian is an integral part of the team and will work closely with a consultant, clinical nurse specialist and dietetic colleagues. You will join the current team of paediatric dietitians working in the fields of diabetes, neonates, cystic fibrosis, allergy, general outpatients and inpatients. The post holder will provide outpatient clinics for complex patients and contribute to the management of other specialist caseloads in the absence of colleagues. You will also provide line management to a band 6 dietitian or dietetic assistant. This is a part-time post offering 31.5 hours a week. Main Duties of the Job

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in clinical dietetics and paediatrics. The post holder must have excellent communication skills, be flexible, and be able to use their own initiative to continually develop the service. The Nutrition and Dietetic Department is a friendly department of 29 members of staff including Dietitians, Dietetic Assistants and an apprentice. We are supported by an administrative team who work across therapies. CPD and personal development are actively encouraged. The department also takes part in regular student training. About Us

BSc Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent Post registration training in paediatric dietetics (modular courses in paediatrics) Clinical Supervisory Skills Course/ Student training courses Member of British Dietetic Association Member of paediatric group of BDA Knowledge

Good clinical knowledge and experience Evidence of ongoing Professional Development at Masters Level Considerable experience working in different clinical settings within paediatric dietetics Experience in Audit & Research Experience of service development Experience of line management Professional Development

Evidence of commitment to lifelong learning Disclosure and Barring Service Check
