Older People’s Medicine Directorate
to work with the team in NHS Ayrshire and Arran, providing a unique and exciting opportunity to be involved in shaping the future of the service. Situated on the beautiful Clyde Coast, Ayrshire & Arran is a great place to live and work. There is a wealth of beaches, golf courses, bustling market towns, and stunning scenery to explore, yet University Hospital Ayr and Biggart Hospital are still within 45 minutes drive from the heart of the city of Glasgow. You will work as part of the Older People’s Medicine team at Biggart Hospital, Prestwick, providing both in-patient and out-patient care. You may also contribute to working in the frailty unit in UHA CAU when it is established. You will work with our partners to ensure patients are identified and placed on the most appropriate care pathway. As part of our integrated care team, you will carry out interdisciplinary assessments of patients at University Hospital Ayr to support the treatment and supported discharges for patients, working with these teams to develop new and innovative pathways of care. The terms and conditions of service are those determined by the New Specialist Doctor in Scotland contract (October 2022).
