SPECIALIST GRADE STROKE MEDICINE VACANCY – NHS UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL - MIDLANDS

We have been asked by an NHS University Hospital based in the Midlands to help them recruit to their Specialist Grade Stroke Medicine vacancy. This is a substantive post and our client will consider Full Time or Less than Full Time.

Vacancy Information

Our client is one of the eight stroke centres within the UK with hyper acute research centre status (HASU) and has an excellent reputation nationally. This is a new post designed to sit on the consultant tier after a period of induction and shadowing tailored to the needs of the successful candidate.

The team is committed to providing continuous service improvement with opportunities for everyone to become involved. The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic and committed team. The Trust is committed to further development of the Stroke service to maintain its long-standing position in the forefront of stroke care provision nationally. The post holder will play a key part in developing the existing stroke pathway, providing consultant input to hyper acute stroke, acute stroke, intensive rehabilitation, and continuing stroke rehabilitation.

The stroke service is now co-located with the Emergency Department, Neurology, Vascular, and Mechanical Thrombectomy services.

As a specialty, we have a passion for high-quality teaching and provide education and clinical support for our multidisciplinary workforce. We have a strong focus on Governance and Clinical Effectiveness, and clinical leadership. We are ambitious in our plans to develop and improve all aspects of our service, so we would welcome applications from candidates with interests in quality improvement, teaching/education, and governance. How these interests might be incorporated into the role and the wider Stroke Medicine team can be discussed informally pre-interview.

Additional Information:

The service has been actively involved with the development of the Early Supported Discharge for City CCG and development of an Outreach Stroke Early Supported Discharge Team for County CCG patients. The stroke service works in partnership with our neighboring Trust to support access to 24/7 thrombolysis for patients living in the area. The Stroke service has strong links with Vascular, Neurology, Neuroradiology, and Acute Medicine services.

If you are interested in this Specialist Grade Stroke Medicine vacancy, then please submit your CV to me as soon as possible.
