Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Term-Time Only) Are you a reliable and empathetic individual looking to gain experience in Special Education? A reputable SEND school in Leeds is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team and assist students with special educational needs. This is a term-time only role with an ongoing contract, offering the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate. The school provides individualized education for children with a range of moderate to severe learning difficulties, including Autism, Dyslexia, motor coordination challenges, genetic disorders, and profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be UK residents living locally. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for overseas candidates. Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils aged 2-18. Assist and mentor students to enhance their engagement in learning and promote personal growth. Offer nurturing support during break and lunch times. Encourage independence and celebrate students' achievements. Manage challenging situations and maintain a calm environment. Ensure consistency and structure in students' daily routines. Skills and Attributes:

A valid Team Teach certificate is preferred, though training can be provided. Ability to connect effectively with children and young people with additional needs is essential. Experience in SEN is advantageous, but the right character fit is most important. Resilience, the ability to remain composed under pressure, and skills in de-escalating challenging situations. Calmness under pressure. Confidence, enthusiasm, and a strong drive. Alertness in recognizing safeguarding concerns and adherence to established protocols. Provide Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all supply staff to share this commitment.
