This fulltime post is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary Community Paediatric team, carrying out the assessment, supporting diagnosis, and management of ADHD and associated conditions. This includes an expectation of independent prescribing as part of a clinical management plan. However, consideration will be given to the right candidate for a band 6 development post with the opportunity to receive support for undertaking the Independent/Supplementary Prescriber (V300) qualification. The service provision for ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions is currently under review, and you will help to develop and deliver innovative approaches to clinical management.

You will be able to work both independently and also be an effective team member, contributing to a multi-disciplinary approach to clinical management, working with colleagues from services within the Children and Families Care Group and the wider partnership, including schools and the voluntary sector.

You will be part of a friendly team committed to the provision of a high-quality service. There are excellent opportunities for supervision and support from within the team and more widely from within the Children and Families Care Group.

Main duties of the job You will work with colleagues from the Community Paediatrics team to assess and manage ADHD and associated conditions.

You will act as a Non-medical prescriber for ADHD related medicines, in line with NMC, NICE, and national guidelines around medicines optimisation prescribing.

You will be a key member of the ADHD multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively with Consultant Paediatricians and other health professionals.

You will work closely with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, inclusive, and expert assessment of children referred to the service.

You will take the lead in preliminary assessments of new referrals using the agreed assessment tools and analysis of the resulting information. Undertake and record observations within schools, clinics, and home settings.

You will be a first point of contact for queries, giving advice and signposting to outside agencies in supporting children, young people, their families/carers, schools, and other professionals.

You will liaise with internal services such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), Social Care, and Health and education to provide a holistic approach to care.

You will work with colleagues in the design, development, and implementation of a rolling programme of parent education, delivered both in groups and individually in a range of settings.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse Independent/ Supplementary prescriber (V300)

Desirable Experience and Knowledge of clinical audit processes

Experience Essential Experience of working within and awareness of issues relating to management of ADHD including assessment of highly complex and co-morbid presentations of children, young people, their families, and carers within this client group.

Experience Essential Principles of physical health assessment qualification Experience of Non-Medical Prescribing within the defined formulary scope for ADHD
