An exciting opportunity has become available within NRP for a Specialist Nurse - Non-medical prescriber. Responsibilities include: Assisting with prescribing of Opiate Substitute prescriptions (OST). Leading the coordination and management of community alcohol detox, including prescribing for safe delivery. Managing data and producing reports for commissioners and trust forums. Providing training for the team, new staff, and students. Developing links with inpatient detox services and alcohol care teams. Main Duties of the Job

Essential criteria: a non-medical prescribing qualification. Relevant knowledge and experience of Addictions and understanding of assessment and treatment. Conducting prescribing assessments and offering prescribing support across North Tyneside and Northumberland. Prescribing for alcohol detoxifications and relapse prevention. Providing clinical supervision and leadership support to wider teams. Providing specialist advice and/or training to external services. Demonstrating strong commitment to high-quality client care and good organisational skills. Person Specification

Education & Qualification

First Level Nursing Qualification and Registration. Minimum two years’ experience post-registration. Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification. Degree or equivalent qualification in evidence-based psychological therapies relevant to the Pathway. Knowledge and Experience

Knowledge of substance/alcohol misuse and NICE guidelines for Addictions prescribing. Experience in management of complex cases and collaborative working. Experience of providing clinical supervision to staff. Experience of working within a community team. Skills and Competencies

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work autonomously and within a team. Evidence of leadership skills.
