Main duties of the job The role includes providing specialist advice and participating in training on Looked after Children to all staff within North East London Foundation Trust who come into contact, or work directly with children and their families. The post holder will complete review health assessments for children and young people and will ensure effective implementation of health care plans for individual children, ensuring all professionals working with Looked after Children have a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities. They will require excellent communication and documentation skills. The post holder will assist the Specialist Nurse for Looked After Children in implementing Government guidance on promoting physical, mental and emotional health of looked after children and young people through targeted health interventions including health promotion initiatives. The post also requires that the professional will take an active part in supporting the organisation with audit and data collection as required. The LAC Nurse will attend complex Statutory reviews and ensure all that assessments and plans are of a high quality for submission to the Local Authority.
