An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse with significant safeguarding children experience. Applicants will need to demonstrate genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of unborn babies, children and young people, with a specific focus on young people and the challenges of transitions. Main duties of the job
The role involves working closely with the Named Nurse/Midwife Safeguarding Children and the wider Safeguarding and transitions teams to ensure that the Trust meets the statutory responsibilities to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and their families. The post holder will provide advice, supervision, support and education to staff across the Trust, in relation to safeguarding children and unborn babies. The team is committed to promoting a positive culture of safeguarding within the Trust to ensure it is embedded in daily practice. Please note that this post may close at sufficient applicants. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to: Explore leadership within the NHS Promote Trust Values and Behaviours Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills Equip you with the skills to champion, lead and complete quality improvement within your role After completing this four and a half days of training, you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. NMC Registered Nurse Degree/ Diploma, specialist training to masters level Evidence of recent & continuing professional development Leadership Certificate Qualification in Safeguarding Supervision Recognised qualification in adult education Experience
Significant post-registration experience as a Band 6 which includes interagency safeguarding practice Experience of working in the NHS Experience of delivering safeguarding supervision and an understanding of the supervision process Experience in clinical audit Disclosure and Barring Service Check
