The successful candidate will work in a range of settings including the clients' own home and the local community, as well as providing support to clients who reside in residential and nursing care settings. Clients may present with a combination of physical, cognitive, sensory, psychological, behavioural, and social needs; therefore, a commitment to multi-disciplinary working is essential. You will be responsible for the management of a caseload of clients who present with a variety of complex Occupational Therapy needs, undertaking specialist assessments to develop meaningful, individualised, and person-centred care plans that can be delivered individually or as part of a wider multi-disciplinary approach. The service is committed to working in partnership with the service user and carers where appropriate, to develop collaborative high-quality individualised care, ensuring safety and a commitment to promoting recovery, wellbeing, and maximising independence. Main Duties of the Job

The Occupational Therapy service is fully integrated within the Community Teams, managed by the Pathway Manager, and supported by the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist, who will provide ongoing clinical and professional supervision. There is a requirement to take OT students on a regular basis from Northumbria University and contribute to student learning in the clinical area. To deliver evidence-based Occupational Therapy interventions. To provide compassionate care based on empathy, kindness, respect, and dignity. To act as identified deputy in the absence of the Clinical Lead. The post holder will provide clinical supervision and leadership to staff as delegated by the Clinical Lead. There is a robust network of Occupational Therapists within CNTW with strong links between both community services and urgent care settings. About Us

Although previous experience is not essential, knowledge of the impact dementia can have on occupational performance and participation, and an interest in working in this clinical area is needed. Education and Qualification

Recognised Occupational Therapy degree/qualification HCPC Registration Evidence of post-registration training in OT interventions relevant to the post. Knowledge and Experience

Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, HCPC and RCOT standards, and other local and national initiatives. Proven track record of post-registration clinical experience relevant to the post. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team. Experience of providing Occupational Therapy services. Awareness of equal opportunities legislation and policies. Experience of collaborative working across agencies and professional disciplines. Proven ability to manage a clinical caseload in a flexible manner as required. Experience of supervising students/non-registered staff. Interest/Experience in working with older adults and dementia care. Skills and Competencies

Proven ability to carry out and provide comprehensive written assessments of individuals with complex needs. Risk Assessment and Risk Management/Safety Planning skills. Demonstrate an understanding of effective & appropriate treatment options including a range of evidence-based clinical approaches as identified in N.I.C.E. Guidance. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. Able to meet geographical requirements. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
