Are you an innovative, creative, motivated caring professional who is looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity to join our well established Intellectual Disability (ID) CAMHS service.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will act as a Care Coordinator for a dedicated caseload of patients who may be presenting with behaviours that challenge and/or significant mental health needs. You would provide person centred, evidence-based, targeted interventions to support the child, their parents/carers and the multi-agency team. You will be provided with regular clinical and peer supervision.

The team works collaboratively, and you will have the support and opportunity to develop your own skills and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

The Occupational Therapist role is a Full Time permanent position within the pan-Dorset ID CAMHS service. The role will involve working across the two sites in Dorset - Southbourne and Dorchester, with your base of work being in Marvin House, Dorchester. You will need to have a valid driving licence and use of a car as you will be required to review and monitor patients in their own homes and within other community settings.

Opportunities for flexible working are available as long as the service needs are met.

Main duties of the job To provide a high-quality person centred approach to care delivery which always considers people's safety, privacy and dignity. To provide specialist care and interventions, assessments, treatments and managing patients on a caseload, as part of the wider multi-disciplinary care team. To provide specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of patients/service users. To devise specialist programmes of care for other professionals to deliver and ensure they are delivered appropriately. To plan, implement and review health improvement programmes in a range of settings. Provide supervision, mentorship, training and clinical support to students and trained practitioners.

Person Specification KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND TRAINING Essential Registered practitioner to degree/diploma level (BSC Hons/Diploma in Occupational Therapy) supplemented by post registration diploma level specialist training and/or short courses or demonstrable extensive experience in the relevant specialty. Membership of the relevant professional body.

JOB SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE Essential Experience at Practitioner Band 5 level. Experience of developing specialist programmes of care for an individual or groups of patients/clients and of providing highly specialist advice. Ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively. Experience of working with clients with complex and additional needs.

Desirable Recent previous experience within a comparable role (children or intellectual disabilities/mental health).

MANAGERIAL & SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE Essential Experience of providing clinical supervision and mentoring to junior staff. Experience of devising and delivering training.

PERSONAL QUALITIES AND ATTRIBUTES Essential Evidence of demonstrating the Trust's values and behaviours. Willingness to advance own clinical knowledge, skill and competence based on current evidence.
