About the role

To complete skilled and specialised Occupational Therapy assessments with the implementation of safe interventions which promote independence, choice and support people to live well for longer whilst reducing where possible the need for hospitalization, care needs or long-term residential care. To specialise in one or more Occupational Therapy disciplines such as community, reablement, moving and handling and any other developing professional area. To assist with the development and reviews of the Therapy services in North Northamptonshire. Support the growth of an effective Community based Therapy service with a focus on quality and ensuring professional standards are met. What will you be doing?

Support the growth of an effective Community based Therapy service with a focus on quality and ensuring professional standards are met. About you

Are you passionate about Occupational Therapy? Do you like helping people? Would you like to support people in our community? We are looking to recruit Senior Occupational Therapists to join our vibrant, driven and hardworking Team. The team uses a strengths-based approach throughout their therapy interventions in line with North Northants Council’s values and behaviours. Dependent upon the role that you are interested in ideally you would have the following skills and knowledge, however, training and mentoring is available for the right candidate. Experience of people moving and handling and demonstrate knowledge of equipment, with an awareness of best practice and current legislation. Understanding of moving with dignity using a single care approach would be desirable. Experience of rehabilitation models and hospital discharge pathways. Knowledge and understanding of major and minor adaptations, specialist equipment and housing. Knowledge of assistive technology is desirable, but not mandatory. Experience of OT practice delivered within a Community or reablement setting.
