We are currently looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join Northumberland CYPS in the neurodevelopmental assessment pathway. The post holder must have experience working as an occupational therapist with children or adults with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism or ADHD. As well as having a sound clinical knowledge base, they will have excellent organisational and time management skills. They will be responsive and flexible and show care and compassion to the families they support. Main Duties of the Job

The role will predominantly involve co-ordinating diagnostic assessments of young people aged 5-18 where it is suspected they have autism and/or ADHD. It will also involve OT specific assessment and intervention with a small number of cases. They will have an integral role in delivering and organising small groups and larger events related to the pathway. They will be expected to provide their clinical opinion and advice to members of the team and clinically supervise a small number of clinicians. About Us

Education and Qualifications

Recognised Occupational Therapy degree/qualification HCPC registered Evidence of post-registration training in OT interventions relevant to the post Training in AMPs, ESI and/or Sensory Integration Knowledge and Experience

Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, HCPC and RCOT standards and other local and national initiatives Proven track record of post-registration clinical experience relevant to the post Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team Experience of providing Occupational Therapy services Awareness of equal opportunities legislation and policies Experience of collaborative working across agencies and professional disciplines Skills and Competencies

Proven ability to carry out and provide comprehensive written assessments of individuals with complex needs Risk Assessment and Risk Management/Safety Planning skills Demonstrate an understanding of effective & appropriate treatment options including a range of evidence-based clinical approaches as identified in N.I.C.E. Guidance Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills Evidence of a high level of professional, organisational, and leadership skills (self & others) Disclosure and Barring Service Check
