We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual, with excellent communication and organisational skills, to join the Paediatric MSk Physiotherapy Team at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.

The post holder must have experience of working within paediatric physiotherapy and proven clinical skills for assessing and treating trauma and orthopaedic conditions.

Within the dedicated Paediatric MSk Physiotherapy Team, our aim is to provide expert physiotherapy intervention and advice to children and young people from 0-18 years. We provide advice, education and support to their families, carers and other professionals working alongside them and support seamless transition into adult services where required.

You will be an effective team player who is flexible, enthusiastic and focused on the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care. Services are delivered from community clinic bases within Bolton, requiring you to be a car owner and driver. Excellent time management skills are needed for effective caseload management. Commitment to service development is essential.

A Band 5 to 6 progression post would be considered for a successful candidate who requires further experience and exposure to fulfil all aspects of the role.

Main duties of the job

Assessment and treatment of a broad range of specialist MSK conditions within the outpatient setting, including group sessions. Advanced clinical reasoning skills and a problem solving approach to patient care. Managing a caseload of patients, including children and young people with complex presentations. Working effectively, both independently and as part of a team. Dealing with complex, sensitive and emotive situations. Communicating effectively with children and young people, their families/carers and the MDT. Commitment to continuing professional development and evidence based practice. Supervision and support of physiotherapy learners, therapy assistants and Band 5 physiotherapists. Deputising on behalf of Band 7 colleagues. Contributing to service improvement. Participation in the team in-service training programme. Knowledge of quality governance and the wider healthcare agenda. Adherence to relevant local and national policies/guidance.
